The Effect of Male and Female College Students¡¯ Self-Efficacy, Depression, and Anger on Health Promotion Behavior

Abstract
This study is a descriptive survey study to understand the effect of self-efficacy, depression, and anger on health promotion behavior in male and female college students. A structured questionnaire was distributed to 210 students enrolled in four universities located in D Metropolitan City from May 02 to May 31, 2022. Using the SPSS Statistics 23.0 Program, the difference between technical statistics and general characteristics was analyzed by Pearson¡¯s correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis on the relationship between t-test, ANOVA, self-efficacy, depression, anger, and health promotion behavior. As a result of the study, self-efficacy was 3.24¡¾0.46 points, depression was 2.62¡¾0.32 points, anger was 2.42¡¾0.47 points, and health promotion behavior was 2.56¡¾0.46 points. Factors affecting health promotion behavior were self-efficacy and anger, and explanatory power was 43%. The factor that had the most influence on health promotion behavior was self-efficacy. Based on the results of this study, it is considered necessary to develop and apply an intervention program that can improve self-efficacy.
